BCAM's Newly Appointed Executive Director

After regaining my strength and finding new resolve following my treatment for breast cancer, I found my way to this extraordinary organization, Breast Cancer Action Montreal. Having served on BCAM’s Board of Directors for the last three years, the third as BCAM’s president, I am now stepping into the role of executive director of Breast Cancer Action Montreal.

All of those concerned about primary prevention and the environmental causes of breast cancer know we have much work ahead of us. I am truly confident we will continue to make great strides in our mission thanks to the ongoing and generous support of our donors, our valued collaborators, all of BCAM’s volunteers who share passionately in our mission, and the steadfast resolve of BCAM’s extraordinary Board of Directors. Together we are a force to be reckoned with!

Janice Melanson, an incredibly skilled and passionate Executive Administrator, has left our organization. She has made an invaluable contribution to BCAM and we thank her profusely. We wish Janice the very best in her new pursuits.

Girl Guides Walk to Support BCAM

On Wednesday, May 4, The Riverview District Girl Guides held its 14th annual BCAM fundraising walk in Greenfield Park. Braving the cold drizzle, Guides, Sparks, Brownies, Pathfinders and their parents marched to collect funds on behalf of BCAM. We thank leader Loretta Julien for her part in organizing the march and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 94, for holding a simultaneous bingo fundraiser. The combined events brought a much appreciated $1,100 to BCAM’s operating fund. The Guides promise “sunshine and freezies” for next year’s walk.
